Because its internal clock is mathematically frozen, popular apologetic arguments frequently conclude that light travels from distant stars to an observer instantaneously.
When combined with formal frameworks such as the Anisotropic Synchrony Convention, which sets the one-way speed of incoming light toward an observer to infinity, this concept is utilized to resolve the distant starlight problem. However, this line of reasoning hinges on a fundamental misapplication of relativistic transformations, and it stands in direct tension with the cosmic imagery presented in Job 38:19-20.

Job cannot comprehend, guide, or track this path because of its immense cosmic scale and divine ordering.
When modern apologetic models attempt to collapse the transit of starlight into an instantaneous coordinate arrival, they inadvertently flatten the dynamic imagery of Job. If incoming light traverses no temporal distance in the observer's frame and requires no mediated transit across space, the concept of a derek, a grand cosmic road along which light journeys, loses its physical and rhetorical significance. The majesty of the whirlwind speech rests precisely on the reality that light possesses a vast, unnavigable path across the universe. By correctly distinguishing the photon's null proper time from the immense coordinate time of cosmic travel, both relativistic physics and the biblical text affirm that light journeys along genuine pathways, spanning an expansive cosmos known fully only to its Creator.
