Dr Jason Lisle's writes in Answers in Genesis -”The Universe Confirms the Bible”

He writes,

“The Bible indicates in several places that the universe has been “stretched out.” This would suggest that the universe has actually increased in size since its creation. Most astronomers today believe that the universe is expanding. This expansion is a very natural result of the physics that Einstein discovered, General Relativity. There is observational evidence that the universe is indeed expanding If the entire universe were being stretched out, the galaxies would all be moving away; and that is exactly what they appear to be doing. It “is interesting that the Bible recorded the notion of an expanding universe thousands of years before secular science came to accept the idea.”


Lisles conclusions:


#1 “Natural result of Einstein General Relativity”

As to Einsteins General Relativity Danny Faunkner of AiG says this,

Over the years, the predictions of general relativity have been tested repeatedly, and it is one of the best-supported theories in the history of science.

Einstein knew his GR equation pointed to a creation event however he rejected his own fornula.

"In 1917, Willem de Sitter used Einstein's equations to predict the discovery of an expanding universe. In a letter from Albert Einstein to astronomer Willem de Sitter, he complained that the expanding-universe theory implied a moment of creation: “To admit such possibilities seems senseless to me.” -NYT

When Edwin Hubble showed Einstein his redshift data Einstein said it was his “greatest blunder.”


#2 “Observational evidence that the universe is indeed expanding”


Here are but 5 ways scientists measure the expansion of the universe - the cosmological constant:

  1. Type Ia Supernovae: These are exploding white dwarf stars that reach a peak brightness predictable based on their mass. By measuring the distance to these supernovae and their redshift (how much their light is stretched by the expansion of the universe), scientists can infer the rate of the universe's expansion and the value of the cosmological constant.



  1. Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB): This faint afterglow of the universe's origins radiation fills the universe. Tiny fluctuations in the CMB temperature encode information about the universe's properties at its earliest stages, including the expansion rate and the cosmological constant.



  1. Redshift of Distant Galaxies: By measuring the redshift of galaxies at various distances, scientists can trace how the expansion rate of the universe has changed over time. This information can be used to constrain the value of the cosmological constant.


Concerning redshifts Danny Foulkner of AiG says this, “I encourage fellow recent creationists to abandon their doubts that extragalactic redshifts are cosmological.”


  1. Gravitational Lensing: Massive objects like galaxies bend spacetime, causing light to curve around them. By studying the distortion of light from distant galaxies by intervening galaxies, scientists can probe the distribution of matter and dark energy in the universe, which can help determine the cosmological constant.



By combining data from multiple techniques, scientists can get a more accurate picture of the cosmological constant and its role in the universe's expansion.


#3 “Most astronomers today believe that the universe is expanding.”

In saying this Lisles is pointing out that most astronomers agree with thus confirming the bible.


#5 “The bible said it first” - the cosmological Constant 

Lisles points out that 12 OT verses repeatedly declair that God streatched (and is streatching) apart the universe eg 

Isaiah 44:24  "I, the Lord, am the maker of all things, Stretching out the heavens by Myself And spreading out the earth all alone.


Conclusion

For the purpose of his

 article Jason Lisles (1) recognises Einsteins equations, (2) the measurements of the streatching universe and (3) their confirmation of the bible.
